How qnot compares

Six JavaScript query builders, measured on the same 1,000-rule tree and compared feature by feature. Each page says where the other library is the better pick.

Comparisons

All six at 1,000 rules.

The same tree in every library, production builds, headless Chromium. The bar is each number against the largest in its column.

Run of 2026-10-19: Apple M5, Chromium 156 via Playwright 1.64, production builds, no CPU throttling. Medians of fresh pages (5 to 9 per size); the tree is 10 fields in groups of 10 rules. JS is gzipped and excludes React for React libraries (jQuery is included). Lower is better. The harness, its method and every size.

How to choose.

Speed matters only past a few hundred rules. Below that, pick on fit.
  • Large or generated queries, any framework: qnot. Editing stays under a millisecond at 1,000 rules in React or plain DOM.
  • Vue, Svelte or Solid without a commercial license: qnot has native bindings for each (Vue, Svelte, Solid).
  • A shadcn/ui or MUI app: qnot's shadcn/ui and MUI builders install as source.
  • React apps that need React Native or a rare export format: react-querybuilder may be the better fit.
  • React apps on Ant Design or Fluent widgets: react-awesome-query-builder may be the better fit.
  • Apps on jQuery and Bootstrap with modest queries: jQuery QueryBuilder may be the better fit.
  • Teams already licensing Syncfusion, or building with Angular or Blazor: Syncfusion QueryBuilder may be the better fit.
  • Apps built around the DevExtreme DataGrid: DevExtreme FilterBuilder may be the better fit.
